MEP Purchase Engineer Job Description JD:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced MEP Purchase Engineer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) materials and services for construction and infrastructure projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze MEP project requirements and material specifications.
Identify and source suitable suppliers and vendors for MEP materials and equipment.
Obtain competitive quotations and prepare comparison statements for management approval.
Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize cost and quality.
Issue purchase orders and ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to project sites.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to align procurement with project timelines.
Evaluate supplier performance, maintain vendor records, and ensure compliance with company standards.
Monitor inventory levels and manage stock for critical MEP items.
Ensure materials comply with technical specifications and quality standards.
Support in resolving issues related to delivery delays, discrepancies, or rejections.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field.
3–6 years of experience in MEP procurement, preferably in the construction or infrastructure sector.
Strong knowledge of MEP systems, materials and technical specifications.
Ability to handle multiple projects and work under pressure.
